Kota Bharu to Cherating

Day
01 (Kota Bharu)
Start
the morning with Kota Bharu sightseeing tour, reputed to be the cradle of
Malay culture, Kota Bharu offers a delightful profusion of colourful
traditions, charm and scenic beauty. Tour will features Malaysia most famous
and colourful central market, kite making centre at PCB beach, silver wares
and Tumpat Village - home for many Buddha temples, such as Wat Pothivihan -
housing the country’s largest reclining Buddha.

02 (Kota Bharu - Perhentian Island)
Depart to Kuala Besut Jetty, from there a 40 minutes boat ride will bring
you to one of the most beautiful island in Malaysia - Perhentian Island,
white sandy beach, crystal clear blue sea, Perhentian Island have much to
offer. Snorkelling scuba-diving, snorkelling, jungle trekking, or just
stroll along the beach. (B)

04 (Perhentian Island - Kuala Terengganu)
Transfer back from Perhentian Island to Kuala Besut Jetty. Journey south to
Kuala Terengganu will pass by many traditional Malay fishing villages,
untouched beaches that dot with colourful fishing boat. Arrive Kuala
Terengganu town in late afternoon, an orientation drive along the ‘long
roof’ China Town and visit the colourful Central Market. Next take a water
taxi to the picturesque Seberang Takir fishing village that dot with
brightly paint fishing boat. Back to mainland and drive along Princess Hill,
Waterfront, Maziah Palace, State Mosque till we reach the State Museum - the
largest museum in South East Asia with outdoor and indoor museum. (B)
Note : Perhentian Island Resort will be close
between mid Oct till Feb, we will replace with the mainland beach
resort, The Aryani Resort. Located on the secluded coast of Merang this
classical Malay Architecture inspired by the Sultan’s palace of ancient days
blends harmoniously amidst a charming fishing village and coconut grove.
This nine-acre royal retreat offers not only a luxurious stay by the sea but

05 (Kuala Terengganu - River Safari - Kuala Terengganu)
Early morning, cruise up to Marang River, along the mangrove swamp river,
you will be greeted by wild animals like monitor lizard, monkeys, crabs,
colourful birds, eagles and sometime an otters. Witness the traditional live
style of Terengganu villagers which included stop at one of the riverside
village and visit several cottage industries like Attap leave roof weaving,
coconut sugar making, visit Pak Uda house and see his monkeys plucking
coconuts. Back to town and Terengganu home cook traditional peranakan lunch
at Madam Bee house. Visit a unique boat building at the fishing village of
Duyung Island that beautifully squeeze in the middle of Terengganu River
mouth. At the headland of Duyung Island, there is a fine view of China Town
wooden stilt houses. Stop at Batu Buruk Beach and Brassware factory to see
the process of Terengganu brassware. Proceed to beautiful floating mosque
and Batik factory. (B, L)

06 (Kuala Terengganu - Cherating
or Kuantan)
Start the day by driving south. Make a first
stop visit to the forest reserve and experience the symphony of Cicadas.
Continues to Berserah Fishing Village which well known for its salted fish,
it is one of the few places in Malaysia where fisherman employ water
buffaloes to transport their fish from the boats to the processing area. In
the evening, visit Sungai Ibok fireflies sanctuary, see the display trees
Sonneratia Caseolaris (Berembang), paddle with sampan (boat) along the
mangrove swamp and witness one of the nature’s wonders fireflies staring
their light and developed striking synchronous flash pattern. Overnight at
Cherating Beach
