Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort is an

by exploring the island. There are several villages scattered around the
coastline, the larger ones being Salang, Tekek, Genting, Paya and Juara.
Or simply take a journey through island hopping for a diving adventure
or just enjoying the scenic moments and not forgetting to visit the
island’s village township for your duty free shopping at Tekek. The
island’s granite formations make for excellent rock-climbing and hiking
expeditions. The more adventurous souls can attempt to scale the
legendary Mount Nenek Semukut. Try a cross-island hike that can easily
be done in a day. No matter what you’re looking for during a tropical

Rainforest Villa
These 9 Villas are situated alongside the clear water stream
furnished with a Kings size bed. Perched dramatically on the hillside

Snorkelling - Just a step out of

Semukut Walk - An hour's walk
through our backyard, an experience of nature through our rainforest to
witness the sounds of nature, more than 100 year old trees, amazing
large hanging rocks and pools of waterfalls. For the adventurous, the
walk could continue to its peak of another hour or more for a pinnacle
view of the South China Sea.
Round Island Tour - Because of the
absence of roads on Tioman Island, the only way to travel around the
island is by boats. This is an experience to capture on film the Twin
Peak known as the Dragon Horn as its famous peak and impressive sight at
the southern tip of the island is popular with rock climbers. Snap shots
of waterfalls dropping from above the Mukut Village, drop by one of the
villagers for refreshments and take a short swirl around Renggis Island
to view the beautiful coral formations.
Scuba Diving - PADI open water dive
courses are available including certificates or for the leisurely dive
experiences at a variety of dive sites such as Chebeh Island, Fan
Canyon, TelukKador (Kador Bay), Malang Rock, labas Island, Tiger Reef,
Salang Bay, Marine Park HQ, Renggis, Bahara and Jahat Island. Contact
our Dive Instructor for assistance.
Golf - The Resort is able to make
arrangements for guest to play at the only golf course on the island
well known for its scenery. A 10 minutes boat ride away.

at the main Lobby, the centre provides for kids, teenagers and adults to
have a go at your favourite PC Games , serve the net or get in touch
with your loved ones and friends back home.

GETTING
AROUND
Some 56km off the coast of the state of Pahang is Tioman Island, an
enchanting piece of paradise at the South China Sea. According to local
legends, the Island is the final resting place of a mythical dragon
princess. Fairytales aside, albeit conjuring romantic images, the island
is best known for its pristine beaches and warm waters. The crystal
clear, turquoise waters offer good visibility making Tioman Island a
diver’s paradise. Discover astounding underwater sights such as
colourful corals, a spectacular display of ocean species and unique sea
creatures from starfish to sea turtles.
Tioman Island is off the south-east
coast of peninsular Malaysia, just north of the Johor-Pahang state
borders. It is reachable by speedboat or ferry from the coastal town of
Tanjung Gemok or Mersing. The best way to get to Tioman Island is by
flying in to the island.
Fly to Tioman Island :
Berjaya Air has a direct 40 minutes
flight from Singapore (Changi Budget Terminal) and Kuala Lumpur (Subang
Airport) to the airport at Tekek Village on Tioman Island. A large
number of International and regional airlines fly to Singapore's Changi
Budget Terminal and Kuala Lumpur International Airport from where you
can take a short cab ride to Subang Airport for those flying into Kuala
Lumpur. Alternatively, the closest airport to Mersing / Tanjung Gemok is
the Senai airport in Johor Bahru.
Senai Airport is serviced by Air
Asia, Malaysia Airlines and Fire Fly with flights from various national
and regional destinations. For Long-haul International flights to Johor
Bahru, you can connect through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Flying
in to Tioman Island is highly recommended as it’s not affected by tidal
conditions. Do inform us beforehand of your flight schedule so that our
staff can be on hand to receive you at the airport and transfer you to
our resort.
Ferry to Tioman Island :
Ferries depart from Tanjung Gemok
(North of Mersing-20 minutes drive), if you’ve made reservations with
Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort, be sure to book your Ferry tickets either
through our reservations or if you make alternative arrangements, please
do give us confirmation details of your arrival into Genting Terminal at
Tioman Island.
Public Ferries are also available
from Mersing, you may book your tickets through our reservatiuons or
personally at the counters at the Ferry Terminal of Mersing. If you are
travelling from Mersing Jetty, be sure to advise our customer service
agents to arrange for boat shuttle from Genting Village Jetty. Ferry
rides takes approximately 1 1/2 hours one way, per way cost at RM35.00
per person.
Getting to Tanjung Gemok :
Tanjung Gemok is best reached by
car, for those travelling on scheduled public transportation from
Singapore or Johor Bahru to Mersing, kindly advise our customer service
agents for shuttle from Mersing to Tanjung Gemok where available.
Tunamaya 1 will shuttle you from
your point of entry into Tioman to our Resort. Please check on fees per
person from your pick up point of either, Tekek, Paya or Genting
Village. Tidal conditions may influence the departure schedules, be sure
to be early for departure. Be sure to alight at Genting Village Jetty
terminal for transfers to Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort. Book your tickets
in advance when travelling over weekends, public and school holidays.
During the monsoon season of November till March, the Ferry schedules
are uncertain, call to make enquiries or best to fly into the island.

Take the East Coast Highway (E8) from KL to Kuantan; Route No. 3
southwards through Pekan and Rompin to Tanjung Gemok.
Kuala Lumpur – Seremban – Bahau – Muadzam Shah – Rompin – Tanjung Gemok.
Take the Plus Highway (E2) south from KL to Seremban : Route No. 51
eastwards to Bahau; Route No. 11 eastwards and Route No. 12 north-east
to Muadzam Shah; Route No. 63 east to Rompin and Route No. 3 south to
Tanjung Gemok.

Driving from Melaka :
Melaka – Tangkak – Segamat –
Muadzam Shah – Rompin – Tanjung Gemok.
Take the Plus Highway (E2) south to Tangkak; Route No. 23 east to

Driving from Kuantan;
Kuantan – Pekan – Rompin – Tanjung

Driving from Singapore & Johor Bahru (2 hours drive from Johor Bahru);

Jalan Tebrau heading towards Kota Tinggi, Jemaluang, Mersing and Tanjung
