Kuala Lumpur to Penang
(MAP)
Day 01 (Kuala Lumpur)
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of
Malaysia. Enjoy the sight and sound tour, highlights : Sri Mahariamman Hindu
Temple, Karyaneka Handicraft Centre, the Moorish styled Sultan Abdul Samad
Buildings, the Tudor styled Royal Selangor Club, St. Mary Anglican Church,
Thean Hau Temple, National Monuments and King’s Palace. Visit the Petronas
Twin Tower for a photo stop (the twin tower has a sky bridge which is open
to the public and subject to availability as the entry is limited to a
certain number of people each day). The tour also cover fringes of the city
abound with cottage industries and nature reserves, have a first hand view
of how beautiful pewter products are manufactured at the world famous Royal
Selangor Factory. Next is a visit to Batu Caves, climb up her 272-steps
leads to the top of the hill where a natural limestone cavern houses an
Hindu shrine of Lord Krishna, while climbing up, watch out for the cheeky
monkeys that line the way.
Day 02
(Kuala Lumpur
- Elephant Sanctuary - Taman Negara : Night Jungle Walk)
Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation
was established in 1989 by the Department of wildlife and National parks.
The centre is a base for the Elephant Relocation Team, Which began the
elephant translocations problem programme in 1974. The only one of its kind
in Malaysia, the team is dedicated to locating, subduing and then
translocation problem elephants from areas where their habitats are
constantly being encroached by plantations and to other suitable habitats
throughout the Peninsular such as Taman Negara. Over the past 25 years the
centre has helped prevent the further declined of the elephant population by
relocating more than 300 wild elephants. Tour includes elephant ride,
elephant feeding and those who are brave; we suggest you bring a change of
clothes and towel if you wish to participate in water activities such as
swimming and bathing the elephant in the river. After visit to the Elephant
Sanctuary, continue to Taman Negara. In the evening, video presentation on
National Park at the Interpretive Centre, next proceed to Night Jungle Walk,
experience the tropical forest nightlife, flora and fauna. (B)
Day 03 (Taman Negara : Canopy Walkway, Teresek Hill and Rapid
Shooting)
Start the day by jungle trekking to
Teresek Hill and Canopy Walkway - The World’s Longest Hanging Bridge! Walks
in the air and tree top for a beautiful scenery of flora and fauna, tree
species and bird watching. Canopy Walkway Open at 11:00am to 14:45pm
everyday. Later jungle trekking uphill to Teresek Hill and enjoy the
panoramic view of Tahan Mountain and tree canopy covering the hills and
verdant valley. Later join the Rapid Shooting at Trenggan Lodge, experience
the seven major rapids (Nusa, Dua, Abai, Teras, Dedari, Panjang and Trenggan)
and feel the excitement of being drenched. (B)
Day 04 (Taman Negara - Cameron Highlands)
Today winding through the oldest
jungle road to Cameron Highlands, situated 1,524m above sea level, and the
largest Malaysian hill resorts. Much of its appeal lies in the neat
sprawling tea plantations which date back to 1929, as well as terraced
flower gardens, strawberry farms, orchards and vegetable gardens. (B)
Day 05 (Cameron Highlands - Pangkor Island)
Drive along the picturesque tea
gardens to Gunung Brinchang, a commentary and an aerial view photography
stop will be made before we bring you for a short trek into the ‘Mossy’
forest in search of pitcher plants and other flora, at the peak, the viewing
tower gives a spectacular view of the surroundings. The return journey will
bring us downhill to the Sungai Palas tea factory for a factory tour, be
amazed by the varieties tea served at the ‘Umphh Tea Shop’. Downhill from
Cameron Highlands to Lumut Jetty, from Lumut a short ferry ride to Pangkor
Island (B)
Day 6 (Pangkor
Island)

Day 7 (Pangkor Island - Kuala
Kangsar - Penang)
The Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar was the birthplace of Malaysia’s great
rubber industry, the oldest rubber tree is found here. Sightseeing included
visit to the magnificent Ubadiah Mosque, built by 28th ruler of Perak,
Sultan Idris Mursyidul Azam Shah I to fulfil a vow, the mosque was completed
in 1917 with its majestic golden dome and 4 minarets. Next visit to Istana
Iskandariah palace that overlooking the river. Later continue north and
arrive Butterworth in the evening, cross the Asia's 3rd longest bridge to
the Pearl Of The Orient - Penang. (B)
Day 8 (Penang)
At 09:00am we depart for half day
Trishaw Heritage Tour, meeting up our trishaw man at Fort Cornwallis, enjoy
the unique trishaw ride to Chew Jetty, witness the early settlement of
Chinese immigrant living on stilt house above the sea. After paying a short
visit here, we will continue our trishaw ride to Khoo Kong Si Clan House,
this famous clan house with its ancient-design constructed to capture the
splendour of an Imperial Palace and features a magnificent hall embellished
with intricate carvings and richly ornamented beams of the finest wood
bearing the mark of master craftsmen from China. Next is a visit to Kek Lok
Si Temple and The Pagoda Of Ten Thousand Buddhas. (B)
