Langkawi to Kota Bharu

Day 01 (Langkawi)
Free at leisure.
Day 02 (Langkawi)
Start the day with Langkawi Island Tour, visit to Mahsuri Mausoleum,
according to legend when Mahsuri lay dying after being executed over a false
accusation of adultery, she laid a curse on the island that it would not
prosper for seven generations. Next to Crocodile Farm, Black Sand Beach, Air
Hangat Village (Hot Spring Village), Birds Park, Underwater World, Cenang
Beach, Eagle Square and Gamat Factor. At Galeria Perdana, visitors can
browse through the display of gifts and souvenirs given to Malaysia’s Prime
Minister Dato Seri Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad by other world leaders. (B)
Day 03 (Langkawi - Alor Setar -
Penang)
Depart from Kuah Jetty Langkawi to Kuala Kedah Jetty by ferry, and a short
drive to Alor Setar, the capital of Kedah State. Orientation drive included
Balai Besar, built in 1898 and is still used for royal ceremonies and some
state functions, this edifice, which serves as a great hall, is supported on
tall pillars and decorated with Victorian wrought-iron designs, the Thai
influences in its architecture are seen in some intricate wood carvings.
Next to Balai Nobot,
houses the sacred instruments of the
royal ceremonies of inaugurations, weddings, and funerals, the instruments
consist of three drums, a gong and flute, which produce the haunting strains
of nobat music. Zahir Mosque,
the state mosque completed in 1912, one of the oldest in Malaysia, it has
distinctively Moorish architecture, with a main dome and several smaller
domes surrounded by minarets. Later to Tun Dr. Mahathir's Birth Place, the
4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, was born in 1925 in this traditional attap
and wood house. The simple furnishing and implements in the 5-bedroom house
are preserved from the former Prime Minister's childhood, the house also
displays souvenirs and memorabilia relating to his student days, and
eventually his time as a Prime Minister. Arrive Butterworth in the evening,
cross the Asia's 3rd longest bridge to the Pearl Of The Orient - Penang. (B)
Day 04 (Penang)
At 09:00am we depart for half day
Trishaw Heritage Tour, meeting up our trishaw man at Fort Cornwallis, enjoy
the unique trishaw ride to Chew Jetty, witness the early settlement of
Chinese immigrant living on stilt house above the sea. After paying a short
visit here, we will continue our trishaw ride to Khoo Kong Si Clan House,
this famous clan house with its ancient-design constructed to capture the
splendour of an Imperial Palace and features a magnificent hall embellished
with intricate carvings and richly ornamented beams of the finest wood
bearing the mark of master craftsmen from China. Next is a visit to Kek Lok
Si Temple and The Pagoda Of Ten Thousand Buddhas. (B)
Day 05 (Penang - Kota Bharu)
This morning, we leave the Island
City, crossing
from west to the east of Peninsula Malaysia, drive along the
East-West Highway, cutting through the main range to the north-eastern coast
state of Kelantan, pass by Temenggor Lake - Perak's largest man-made lake
covering an area of 15,200 hectares, surrounded by dense jungle and home to
Orang Asli Kintak and Jahai tribes, wild elephants crossing road sign can be
seen along the highway. Kota Bharu, the capital of Kelantan State. Visit
night market this evening, the market serve a delectable array of
traditional dishes.

Day 06 (Kota Bharu)
Start the morning with Kota Bharu
sightseeing tour, reputed to be the cradle of Malay culture, Kota Bharu
offers a delightful profusion of colourful traditions, charm and scenic
beauty. Tour will features Malaysia most famous and colourful central
market, kite making centre at PCB beach, silver wares and Tumpat Village -
home for many Buddha temples, such as Wat Pothivihan - housing the country’s
largest reclining Buddha.
